I Hate Caterpillars
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
A stop motion animation looking back in my fear of caterpillars.
Presented as the work in progress of 'Semi-endocanibalism'.
Thinking of looking at the project from a different perspective, I attempted to criticise professional mourners by arguing their reasonability. I suggested that what they were doing was commercialising people’s feelings and emotions, therefore defined professional mourners as ‘emotion traders’. Base on this aspect, I was looking at my project by questioning the authenticity of one’s emotion as if about the merchantability of feelings and the reason why people accepted their own emotion being manipulated. I experiment with the idea by making an interactive film that played different clips based on the audience’s facial expressions. What I was looking for is how people may react, motivated by their curiosity on what is going on to the animation, were they willing to fake out their expressions just to achieve a certain purpose.
